Friday Night with Janis

JANIS_Box_Office

I’ve had such a busy week since last Friday that I’m getting far behind in posts!  Friday night I went with some friends to see “One Night with Janis Joplin” at the Pasadena Playhouse.  What a fabulous Show!  Great singers, great band and the woman who played Janis was amazing!   It was like being at a concert with some personal time  listening to Janis Joplin.  If you get the chance to see it…GO!

I wore this Coral Tee and Flowered Jeans from Dress Barn.  The Tee actually goes with these jeans (I promise).  I didn’t get a chance to take pictures Friday night but I do have pictures of Saturday’s St. Patrick’s Day Tea which I’ll post tomorrow.

Zombie Love

Yesterday, my friend Sharon D. and I went to the movies to see “Warm Bodies” This was a very cute, funny and romantic comedy out of Canada. We both laughed and enjoyed the movie. Think Romeo and Juliet with Romeo a zombie! He was a very cute zombie too. “R” narrated the story of his romance with Julie. Don’t go to see it expecting some critically acclaimed art house film…just go for some light- hearted fun! It does have a sweet message though.

Have a fun weekend!

Breakfast at the Griddle Cafe

Breakfast at the Griddle Cafe

My pictures are going from last to first and I’m not feeling the urge to change them now. Yesterday I went with friends in FUN DAY TRIPS to breakfast at the Griddle Cafe in Los Angeles. The Griddle Cafe is yummy for breakfast! It also fills up really fast and people form lines that go down the street trying to get in. Sometimes celebrities are spotted there but that didn’t happen yesterday. We did enjoy wonderful breakfasts that could easily be split between 2 or 3 people.

Next we were off to the Pantages to see Jekyll and Hyde. This was outstanding! Constantine Maroulis played Hyde as a highly erotic sociopath. It was easy to forget that Jekyll and Hyde were played by the same man. His acting and singing were fabulous! Deborah Cox was wonderful, too.

The photos of the Pantages were taken on another trip to the Pantages. Disregard the dates as they aren’t accurate. The inside of the Pantages is so beautiful!

The photo of me was taken in the parking lot by Sandra Habek. I wore a black sweater from Lane Bryant, black lace skirt from JCP, white lace trimmed cami from Target, black tights from Target and necklace from New York & Co. I dressed for cooler weather because at home there was a cold Santa Ana wind blowing. In L.A. the weather was gorgeous and not windy.

Mad for Plaid

highres_206853072

Yesterday I went with some friends to see the new Die Hard movie. Gotta get me some Bruce every so often. I wore my plaid sweater from Eloquii and black jeans from Avenue. I really love plaids of all kinds and black and white is on trend now. Here in Southern California it will soon be too hot for sweaters like this. But that’s OK, I’m ready for spring!

Calyx by Prescriptives is my signature scent. I love it so I decided to treat myself. Maybe I’ll even buy some flowers too. A girl should take care of herself.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Red Hot Valentines Luncheon

Outfit from 2 years ago.

This year’s outfit

Every year The Sunshine Gals have a luncheon or dinner around Valentines Day. These get togethers are so much fun! Our group is a social club and we also support some charities which is really great too. This year’s luncheon was at Market Broiler in Orange, CA. We all wear red for this special time.

My outfit was a red knit dress from eloquii, red heart necklace I bought in Las Vegas and a red felt hat. I love to wear hats and so I do when I get the chance.

Last year’s outfit was a color block dress from Dress Barn and no hat since we went to a dinner theater production of Battle of the Dance.

The dress from two years ago was very cute but too long for me. It had ruffles on the sleeves and down the side but when I saw the pictures I didn’t like it on me. I needed to have it shortened which was a problem because of the ruffle going down the skirt. I’m not sure where I got the dress or hat.

Anyway I have fun dressing up! Do you like to dress up or dress casual?

Hugs, Susan
